2010 Financial Aid Letter
March 17, 2010
Dear Friends of St. Francis – St. James United School (SFSJUS),
We would like to share that the faculty and staff of our school have reached a level of academic excellence unmatched by any other private school of our size in the metro area. Here's a look inside at some of our most recent successes:
- The larger Catholic community recognizes the exceptional education received at SFSJUS. In 2010 we were awarded the Archdiocesan Legacy grant which has provided our school with a state of the art Technology Lab.
- The Minnesota Department of Education endorses our Technology Plan and has provided Federal funding.
- Through a mathematics grant our teachers are being provided with professional development opportunities in partnership with University of Saint Thomas.
- Twelve student scientists from our middle school competed at the 2010 Twin Cities Regional Science Fair. All received A's, and three advanced to State.
- All kindergartners are partnered with a seventh or eighth grade mentor. The younger children enjoy participating in weekly Mass, being read stories, and attending other school events with their "Buddies". Kindergarten enrollment has doubled since last school year.
- 100% of our graduating eighth graders that applied to private Catholic high schools have been accepted.
The SFSJUS Financial aid committee is kicking off the 2010 annual fund drive. As you know, the mission of our committee is to provide financial aid for families with children at St. Francis-St. James United School who desire Catholic education and need financial support. Supporters like you are essential for us to accomplish our objectives, and we especially need to increase the number of donors this year.
The benefits of a Catholic education prepare tomorrow's leaders in faith, knowledge, morals and discipline that lasts a lifetime. We think there is no better way to invest in a child's future or the future of our community. Therefore, we ask that you prayerfully consider helping our SFSJUS mission for today and the future. Thank you very much.
Sincerely, SFSJUS Financial Aid Committee
