September 2008
This year’s Photography Elective will introduce and broaden students’ awareness of various photographic elements, i.e. line, form, texture, symmetry, depth, and figure). These elements in mind, students will be asked to capture images which depict common scenes with rare and unique presentation.
While developing their eye, students will concomitantly receive basic instruction in editing techniques using Mac-based Iphoto software. Students will direct the final form each image will take.
At the end of the year, every student will participate in the creation of one photography book (published via Apple Iphoto) that brings to form all class exercises and assignments. This book will be made available for purchase at multiple school and parish functions over the 2008-2009 academic year.
