SFSJUS is part of the Hill-Murray Parish Schools’ Band Program with 20 other Catholic Schools in St. Paul. Students learn to play a band instrument during their weekly semi-private lesson and band rehearsal, (instruments available are flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.) There are three levels of band – beginning, intermediate, and advanced – which challenges students to play their best. In addition to Christmas and Spring concerts, students have other musical opportunities: large group combined schools rehearsals and concert at Hill-Murray, talent show participation, playing for mass, solo and ensemble festival and jazz band.
