Royetta Zachariason

Mrs. Zachariason, a life long resident of the West 7th Street neighborhood, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota.

Participating in numerous workshops, professional development opportunities in the areas of Kindergarten instruction and primary education curriculum, Mrs. Zachariason is noted as an outstanding Student Teacher Supervisor mentoring student teachers from St. Thomas and St. Catherine Universities. Mrs. Zachariason, one of nine children, attended neighborhood schools and her own two children graduated from SFSJUS.

She is a “fixture” at SFSJUS nurturing all our kindergarten children for the past 22 years.

Former students who visit our school most often want to visit their kindergarten teacher first. And, Mrs. Zachariason is now experiencing former students enrolling their children in her class! How sweet is that?

Ask Mrs. Rappé, she would say that Mrs. Zachariason is Mother Earth, Mother Goose, and Mrs. Santa all rolled into one.
