DAILY SCHEDULE OBJECTIVES ACTIVITIES / METHODS POLICIES
6:30-8:45
Arrival and greeting
To help the children feel welcome and eager for the day's activities Free choice of games from shelves or activities set up each morning for children to choose from - art, small blocks. Children choose activities under teacher direction. 6:30-8:00 in songbird room, then outside, weather permitting.

Children in this group are 4 and 5 years of age.

2. Program operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
8:45-9:15
Prepare for and eat breakfast
Provide the components of breakfast as stated by Federal Food Program Wash hands and enjoy breakfast 3. Program is licensed for 40 children; normally, 30 are enrolled; 1/10 or better ratio.
9:20-9:30 Calendar / Helper of the Day   4. Children are supervised at all times. The staff is involved in the children's play.
9:30-10:15
Songbird room / Outdoors
Provide large muscle development, cooperation, and socialization Bikes, balls, riding vehicles, parachute, jump ropes 5. The program plan is kept on file, available to parents when child joins the group.
10:15-10:30
Story and / or Music (large group)
Enjoy stories; develops critical thinking and allows participation. Learn new songs, develop cooperation, learn rhythm. Books, flannel boards, puppets, finger plays. Singing, dance, creative movement. Teacher directed 6. Teachers communicate and interact with parents daily as well as through formal parent conferences in Fall and Spring.
10:30-11:30
Cognitive activity /
Creative / Intellectual development
Stimulate thinking, develop small muscle coordination. Provide creative outlet and self-expression Numbers, alphabet, colors, puzzles, cutting, pasting, books, painting, crafts, etc. Teacher directed and child initiated The social and emotional development is a priority over the academic. Each child is accepted as an individual, given love and attention to provide a healthy foundation for learning in a happy and fun environment.

Prepare for lunch
  Bathroom, wash hands, set table    

11:30-12:00
Lunch

Provide nutritious meal according to the Federal Food Program. Socialization, encourage self-help skills Enjoy meal and socialize. Teacher serves food as children need help or else children serve themselves Self selection rather than staff selection of activities and experiences. Required participation in activities and experiences is limited.
12:00-12:40
Songbird room / Outdoors
Provide large muscle development, cooperation, and socialization Bikes, balls, riding vehicles, parachute, jump ropes Staff use positive guidance and discipline to help children achieve self-control.
12:40-1:00
Prepare for nap
  Bathroom, wash hands, quiet time with stories This plan will be available at all times for parents to review. The program plan will be reviewed and evaluated annually by the Director and a teacher.
1:00-2:45
Nap
Rest and relaxation with quiet music As children awaken, qiuet activities are provided or children go outside

Rise / Snack
Prepare for afternoon. Provide a nutritious snack Bathroom, wash hands, eat, and socialize

Provide creative outlet and self-expression Painting, crafts, etc.
