Preschool Program

Our Preschool program serves children ages 33 months to Kindergarten.

We are licensed to serve 60 pre-school aged children.

The preschool program continues the child's development of social / emotional development, language development, cognitive, and physical skills through an environment introducing freedom within limits. This environment fosters an inner discipline gained from making choices, thereby developing independence, self-motivation, and increased creativity.

We serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. The children have rest period from 1-3 pm .

We use a theme-based curriculum where the teachers plan stories, art, flannel boards and other activities based on weekly themes.

Sandcastle offers the following enrichment programs to the children:

"Growing With Music" is a developmental music program for toddlers and preschoolers. Each week the children are guided through 30 minutes of musical activities to emphasize overall development while exposing them to important music concepts. This program is offered at an additional cost of $4.00 per week.

"Dancercise Kids" is a theme related exercise program that is offered to preschoolers weekly. This program teaches themes and concepts, while also engaging the children in dance and exercise. This is also offered at an additional cost that is paid directly to Dancercise corporate offices.

"Second Step Curriculum" is a 30 minute weekly program in all Preschool classrooms. This is a curriculum that preschool teachers use to guide the children in problem solving and non-violent resolution of conflicts. This is a curriculum that was donated to Sandcastle by the Violence Prevention Network.
